General Instructions For Working With 3D Printed Parts
Posted by Jeff Briggs on
This model is 3D printed, and the material might not be what you are used to working with. When removing the parts from the sprue runners, wear eye protection and use a pair of sprue nippers or sharp hobby knife. Do not just pull them off or the surface may become marred. Afterwards, use 400 grit sandpaper to smooth the points. In some cases, you may have to remove the support posts one at a time to access posts behind. Take your time.
To glue the model together, use regular CA glue. It bonds the parts instantly and well.
You don't need to clean the models any more than you would anything else you are painting. Washing in warm water and detergent is more than enough, at Briggs Models we swab the model with a mild detergent solution, then swab with 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove detergent film.
If you have any suggestions to make these parts easier to work with, please let us know.
